The Hippie hemp cookies are loaded with hemp seeds, walnuts, raisins, feel great maca and muscle building protein powder. It’s an awesome nutritional, feel good, delicious combo great for sustainable energy.  I decided to experiment and try not only my plan for the Hippie Hemp Cookies but also for a chocolate variation. I thought I would prefer one to another but am happy that I just can’t decide. Except that I ate too many trying. But they have all healthy ingredients so it’s all good.

I decided to put oatmeal into the original ones. I love oatmeal and it just seems like a ‘hippy’ cool thing to do. My only dilemma was that rolled oats are not raw and I wanted a raw cookie recipe. Thus my plan on adding coconut instead of oatmeal and adding cacao. Who doesn’t love chocolate with coconut?  ..or chocolate with anything!? ; )  Well, if you are not a chocolate lover, I feel confident that they will be good with or without the chocolate, and with either oatmeal or coconut. This is a great cookie combo!

Hippie Hemp Cookies

Ingredients

1 c Hemp Powder
½ c Hemp seeds
1 c Rolled Oats
1 ½ cup Walnuts – ¾ cup chopped and set aside
2 Bananas
1 ½ cup Golden Raisins
¼ cup Maca
2 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Cinnamon
2 Tbsp Water – only add if needed to get desired consistency

Directions

Set aside ¾ cup chopped walnuts and ¾ cup raisins to add to cookie dough later. Take the remaining walnuts and raisins and put into food processor with the bananas and process. I ran out of bananas and used 1 fresh and 1 frozen banana and so put 2 Tbsp of hot water in processor to help it dethaw quickly and process well.  After it is processed well put this mixture into a big bowl Add all of the rest of the ingredients and mix well. The consistency should be that the dough is crumbly but sticks together when pressed.

Spoon cookie dough out onto teflex sheets, I used a ¼ cup measuring cup to measure mine out and got just over 16 cookies. Press cookies down flat, a quarter to half inch high, and put trays into dehydrator. Dehydrate at 115 degreees for 3-4 hours, then flip onto a mesh screen, remove teflex and continue dehydrating for 6-8 hours. I kept them in overnight, about 8 hours and they smelled amazing and were perfect dryness and consistency in the morning.
