Chia pudding is a wonderfully easy way to eat chia seeds. It is like a tapioca pudding with an almond-vanilla flavor. Chia doesn’t have a flavor on its own and takes on the flavor of whatever it is put with, in this case almond milk and vanilla. Chia seeds swell up and make you feel full quickly and so are great for weight loss and for endurance, helping you to stay full for a long time. These little seeds have a big nutritional profile and are also go great for your health.

This recipe was a special request. It’s a recipe that we used to make at Toronto Sprouts and it used to be the base layer for our famous ; ) Earth Bread sandwiches. These sandwiches were the biggest hit of the cafe, everyone loved them. & here’s a shout out to all of you underground Toronto raw people who came and ate those sandwiches made with Marie’s famous Earth Bread (which I helped to perfect ; ). But back to the Pate. I love this and make it often to have on crackers. It’s perfect with the Multi Seed Crackers! || Read more

This is a recipe I created years ago and it still has yet to be improved upon. It’s still a favorite and even if I create others (it’s nice for a change) I keep coming back to this one. I made this the day before yesterday and some skeptics around here were delightfully surprised. Well, I was delighted, especially when yesterday, a day after eating the soup I kep getting sporadic compliments on it. “That green soup was great” I kept hearing. It made me feel good to turn people, who didn’t believe a green soup could taste good, onto it.  || Read more

This corn chowder is vegan and made creamy with coconut milk, which has healthy fats your body utilizes well, and medium chain fatty acids which help to dissolve the bad fats in cells. Coconuts are very nutritious and so a great choice for making soups creamy.  Corn is a food that although I love, I don’t eat very often as it is high in carbs and is often GMO. I usually only buy organic but we got a lot of fresh produce this week from a local farmer that was mostly, but not certified organic. At least no pesticides were used!   || Read more

Nori is one of the most nutritious foods around so I am always happy when I think of a new way to make it interesting and add to my diet. In this recipe veggies are mixed with an avocado and mayonnaise mix – of course, you know I’m using my hemp oil mayo! So it is super nutritious and loaded with healthy EFA’s. Getting healthy fats into your diet is great. They are not only beneficial to your health but they help clean out the bat fats from your cells and can actually help you lose weight. These veggie nori rolls are delicious and for health, it’s hard to beat a veggie/sea veggie combo like this!  || Read more

I love beets! And I love this salad. It is one of my favorite ways to eat beets. This salad is sweet and savory (and for me often a little spicy, with extra cayenne!) It’s a great way to eat beets raw to get their full nutritional power. Apples give this salad its sweetness and celery gives it a crunch. To me it is a simple and wonderful combination. I always make a lot when I make this and it’s one of the easiest salads to make! It is definitely one of my favorites and I hope you enjoy it as well.   || Read more

The Hippie hemp cookies are loaded with hemp seeds, walnuts, raisins, feel great maca and muscle building protein powder. It’s an awesome nutritional, feel good, delicious combo great for sustainable energy.  I decided to experiment and try not only my plan for the Hippie Hemp Cookies but also for a chocolate variation. I thought I would prefer one to another but am happy that I just can’t decide. Except that I ate too many trying. But they have all healthy ingredients so it’s all good. || Read more
